Brief facts about rutlandshire:

Rutland, sometimes archaically called Rutlandshire, is a ceremonial county in the East Midlands of England. It borders Leicestershire to the north and west, Lincolnshire to the north-east, and Northamptonshire to the south-west. Oakham is the largest town. Rutland has an area of 382 kmĀ² and a population of 41,049, the second-smallest ceremonial county population after the City of London. The county is rural, and the only towns are Oakham and Uppingham, both in the west of the county; the largest settlement in the east is the village of Ketton. For local government Rutland is a unitary authority area. The county was historically the smallest in England, a fact reflected in the motto of the county council: Multum in Parvo, or "much in little". The geography of Rutland is characterised by low, rolling hills, the highest of which is a 197 m point in Cold Overton Park. In the 1970s a large artificial reservoir, Rutland Water, was created in the centre of the county.

Flag of Rutland - The Flag of Rutland is the flag of the English county of Rutland. It was registered with the Flag Institute on 17 November 2015.

High Sheriff of Rutland - This is a list of sheriffs and high sheriffs of the English county of Rutland. The sheriff is the oldest secular office under the Crown: there has been a Sheriff of Rutland since 1129.

Lord Lieutenant of Rutland - This is a list of people who have served as Lord-Lieutenant of Rutland. In 1974 Rutland became part of Leicestershire under the Local Government Act 1972, the Lieutenancy was abolished, with Rutland's Lord-Lieutenant becoming Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire.

Kesteven - The Parts of Kesteven are a traditional division of Lincolnshire, England. This division had long had a separate county administration, along with the two other Parts of Lincolnshire, Lindsey and Holland.

Parts of Holland - The Parts of Holland is a historical division of Lincolnshire, England, encompassing the south-east of the county. The name is still recognised locally and survives in the district of South Holland.

Soke of Peterborough - The Soke of Peterborough is a historic area of England associated with the City and Diocese of Peterborough, but considered part of Northamptonshire. The Soke was also described as the Liberty of Peterborough, or Nassaburgh hundred, and comprised, besides Peterborough, about thirty parishes.
